Erin Clarke

Bio

Erin Clarke is a media artist who began working with video and digital image making in the mid-nineties. Erin has created low-tech animations, video art, and documentary works, and is especially interested in traversing genre and categorical boundaries. Subtly wistful and whimsically critical, her work has been exhibited in Toronto and New York, and she was awarded a Toronto Animated Image Society prize in 2005. Often mixing analog and digital media, Erin engages social and political themes through her own and others’ stories, and is informed by experience in both frontline social work and the information technology industry. Having studied at OCAD University and Ryerson University in Toronto, Canada, as well as the Polytechnic Institute of NYU and The New School in New York City, Erin Clarke holds a BFA in Integrated Media, an MS in Integrated Digital Media, as well as an MFA in Documentary Media.
